  3. This was the first major "news" event I remembered in my life. Shocking to see that 6 could fail in 1978 but 8 could pass in 2008. Fabulous film.

  7. I watched this movie tonight. It was extremely moving. I am glad some people in this country have evolved since then. I hop the rest catch up. This country was founded by people looking to not be judged. I cried during Milk and i liked it more than Slumdog Millionaire. Penn, Hirsch, and Franco were extremely good in it.

  8. Today I tried to teach the wonder that is Harvey Milk to 10th graders. I think it was a bit over their heads-- but the point is, EVERYONE should have the right to feel comfortable and safe in his or her own skin, and Harvey Milk was one of the people who paved the way for tolerance and change.
    Mark, I applaud you for being left of center! I definitely am too, but way too many people think that normal is the watchword.
