Perfection!

One of my absolute favorite foods of all time happens to be the simplest!!!!....

PB& J........mmmmm....sooooo ONO!

Just when i thought these fun comforting sandwiches couldnt get any better, i decide to take a trip to Trader Joe's.....one of my FAVORITE places to shop....and decide to try new peanut butter......yikes, leaving Skippy, should i? should i not?.....ahhhh, such tough decisions in life... "Alright Mark, calm down"..... "But what if i dont like it?" .... "Then you can get the one you ALWAYS get!" ... "Ok, thanks" .... so i decide to try......drumroll please..... Trader Joe's Unsalted Crunchy Peanut Butter!!!!

i get home and immediately want to try this as i am a bit hesitant with a new brand......

WOW! can i just say it is heaven....SOOOOOO thick and creamy!!! it is absolute deliciousness in your mouth!....YES! you can eat it by itself.....BELIEVE ME!!!  But in a PB&J......my goodness....one of the best PB&J's...and i've experienced MANY PB&J's in my years of living.

So for now i'm sticking with it......wheat bread, trader joe's unsalted crunchy peanut butter, strawberry jelly (sometimes grape)....a little more peanut butter than jelly! :)

DELISH! :P
How do you like it?

  3. Bwahaha @ this entry! I don't know why but it cracked me up.

I like it with wheatbread too. But what I like better than PBJ, is smart balance peanut butter on a spoon. Better than a lollipop and healthier too! :b

  5. Sherri, I agree! PB & Honey is good stuff. But I really like good ol' PB and Smuckers Grape. Or, if Ethan and Daniel get to pick, we'll use Goober Grape -- so terribly healthy, I know, I know.

And Trader Joe's? Heaven itself. Mark, you don't know how lucky you are! We sad Nebraskans have no Trader Joe's, so I have to stock up on TJ goodies whenever I visit my brother in SF!!

  6. *sigh* Jealous of people with access to Trader Joe's. I'm a JIF girl, traditionally, but I do like natural peanut butters from time to time.

My PB&J's are usually on whole wheat bread, toasted, with creamy peanut butter on both slices and jelly in the middle. Usually grape. Sometimes strawberry. I like peanut butter on apple slices, too, though I don't care for apples plain.

I've hung onto my pregnancy habit of eating PB straight from the jar on a spoon. It kept me sane back then, and I still crave it now and then. :)

  7. I loved this blog! The conversation you had with yourself cracked me up! No Trader Joe's for this Canadian gal :( I do love PB&J, though. Skippy peanut butter on whole wheat bread with strawberry jelly (sometimes raspberry). I bring that to work for lunch sometimes and get laughed at for eating like a kid. Add me to the list for eating apples with PB and PB on a spoon from time to time. Old habits die hard.

  8. I just got home from Trader Joes this evening and the only items I FORGOT were the "PB&J-JennaVersion". ARGH!! How mean of you to rub it in!! LOL!! Love the Trader Joe's Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly, but MY version consists of all natural Trader Joe's Almond Butter with Blackberry Jam on whole grain wheat breat, slightly toasted, with a cup of pomegranate blackberry tea, steeping hot!! Perfect winter dinner!!!!! YUM!!!!!!! Guess I'll make an extra trip tomorrow night, cause it's way too cold to go out now.

  9. Can't say we have a Trader Joe's where I am, but I'm definitely a Skippy's Natural Superchunk girl!!! I tried other brands, but you can definitely taste their overabundance of sugar. I like to eat my PB& grape J with a piping-hot bowl of chicken noodle soup! There's nothing like it!!! You may even want to try heating up your PB&J in the microwave for a FEW seconds, that's really good too!!!

It's a good thing that when you talk to yourself while eating PB&J, you don't have to worry about your tongue sticking to the roof of your mouth! ;)

  11. Oh I forgot to add, with your trying a new brand, you may want to call the company and find out what their statement is on the whole PB/Salmonella outbreak thing (you can check the jar for a phone number)!!! Although they say jars are not affected, news reports seem to vary, so it wouldn't hurt to double-check. I don't want ANYTHING BAD to happen to you...

  12. When I was travelling in Asia (Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand) all the food had peanuts on it, of course...but Oh, how I missed peanut butter. After a month or so, I found a tiny jar in a shopping mall in Penang and hoarded it for weeks like ambrosia. Why am I not surprised that Sherri and Misty are also in the PB and honey with me!! Fresh from the honeycomb up here in the spring. It's amazing. And if I *do* go for the 'J'...it's black cherry, baby. Cherry? Me? Now...who's surprised? ...anyone? ...Bueller??

Unfortunately, I am on PB&J lockdown right now since I pounded three in a row and broke out in hives from the pectin.

  19. I love how the comments on here are all about personal PB&J preferences :) and while on the topic, i'll add my two cents in as well: I LOOOOOOVE PB&J....it pretty much kept me alive at dance performances last week....I think PB&J is at its best with homemade jelly (pomegranate is dynamite!) with extra chunky peanut butter on whatever bread ya have mmmm.....they really should invent a PB&J icecream....
